There are some guitars that tell you what they’re about within the first few chords. This 2002 Gibson L-5 CES is one of them.

It is an absolute cracker.

The L-5 needs very little introduction. It is one of Gibson’s great archtop designs and has long been a benchmark for serious jazz guitars. This particular example is incredibly alive and responsive, with the sort of acoustic character you can feel through the guitar before you’ve even plugged it in.

Plugged in, it’s everything you’d hope for from an L-5 CES—big, warm, articulate and wonderfully expressive.

For the jazz nuts, this is absolutely playing. It’s a beautiful example, in great condition and, more importantly, it is simply a fantastic guitar.

I am happy to ship this guitar, $120 for major cities. Please contact me first if you live outside a major city as costs vary.
