Gibson J-185 Custom 1952 Reissue Antique Natural 2024

Electric Soul presents a 2024 Gibson Custom J-185 1952 Reissue. This guitar comes from Gibson’s prestigious Custom Historic series and is based on the specifications of the original 1952 model. It is a high-end Gibson, comparable to the highly regarded 1950s reissues in Gibson’s electric guitar range.

The J-185 is part of Gibson’s legendary jumbo guitar family. Its characteristic rounded body and pronounced waist give it the unique look of the larger SJ-200, but in a slightly more compact and comfortable size. It is a great choice for players who like the look and character of a jumbo guitar but prefer a more manageable body size.

The guitar is made entirely from solid wood. It features a thermally aged Sitka spruce top, with beautiful maple back and sides. The mahogany neck has a V-shaped profile, combined with a rosewood fingerboard. These materials and specifications were carefully chosen to recreate the character of vintage Gibson guitars.

The historical details continue throughout the instrument. It features traditional hide-glue bracing, a thin VOS nitrocellulose finish, and the characteristic bridge with pearl Maltese cross inlays. The fingerboard has decorative split-block inlays, while the headstock features the classic crown inlay. Multi-ply binding completes the luxurious look.

The guitar has a clear vintage character while staying very close to the style of the original 1950s J-185.

This 2024 example is in mint condition, literally like new. There are no visible signs of use or wear, and it looks fantastic. It is very difficult to ask for more from a used instrument.

The guitar comes with its original vintage-style hard case, inspired by the classic Lifton cases associated with Gibson’s golden era.

It is a perfect match for this beautiful reissue.

This guitar is in virtually new condition and is offered at a noticeably lower price than new one.
