Pre-owned Russian U160P Tuba w/bag

Good condition. As is. Needs some TLC due to sitting for a while. All slides are free-flowing. Middle valve moves fully, but other 2 are sluggish. Tarnishing throughout of finish. Some small dents and finish wear here and there, but nothing major. See pics. Includes bag.

The "U 160P" is a model designation stamped on a Soviet-era Eb tuba made in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), from the nationalized factory that originated from the old Zimmermann workshops.

Key details:

Key/Pitch: Eb (the "160" likely references the old 160-ruble price for Eb tubas set in 1968)
Maker: Leningrad Wind Instrument Factory (predecessor to today's STP Carpathians brand)
Valves: Typically 3 or 4 rotary valves, depending on the specific instrument
Quality: Soviet-era Leningrad tubas from 1979–1984 carried the CCCP state quality mark; quality was considered inconsistent after 1982, so each instrument should be evaluated individually
These Soviet-era horns are essentially early-model St. Petersburg tubas — the same factory, just under the old name.
