Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe Tape Echo – Very Good, with original box and swag
Minor cosmetic wear as pictured. A few light scuffs on the bottom (see photos), and I'm not sure whether some of the marks on the front are from the original paint job.
The Belle Epoch Deluxe is Catalinbread's expanded take on the Maestro Echoplex EP-3. All of the original circuitry is faithfully reproduced, from the 22V power rail to the later-spec JFET preamp, the mixer stage, the high-gain silicon transistor record and playback amps, and the feedback loop. The only things missing are the record and playback heads, which are replaced by a 24-bit digital delay line.
Runs on a standard 9V DC supply, which is converted internally so the preamp runs at 22V like the original. That preamp is a big part of the sound, adding fullness and shimmer to your tone even with the delay barely turned up.
- Premier Guitar called them "superb digital approximations of Maestro EP-3 textures" and said the Deluxe goes well beyond the original Belle Epoch.
- GAK described it as "arguably the ultimate Echoplex EP-3 emulation in a pedal."
