Reverend Thundergun Special Metallic Bordeaux

The Thundergun Special combines Reverend's distinctive styling with a versatile pickup configuration and carefully selected hardware. Its Korina solidbody construction provides a lively, responsive character with plenty of harmonic richness, while the thin UV-cured finish allows the body to vibrate freely. Finished in Metallic Bordeaux, this particular Thundergun Special pairs its bold colour with a sleek bound body and comfortable forearm contour, creating a bass that looks as distinctive as it sounds.

At the heart of the Thundergun Special are Reverend's custom Thick Brick bridge and Split Brick neck pickups. Reverend designs its proprietary pickups specifically for each instrument and pickup position, ensuring balanced volume and tone when switching between them. The Thick Brick brings extra midrange punch and definition, while the Split Brick delivers greater low-end thump and open highs.

The Pickup Pan control provides a simple and intuitive way to blend the two pickups, allowing you to dial in everything from a focused, punchy bridge sound to a deeper neck pickup character. Volume and Tone controls complete the straightforward control layout, giving you everything you need to shape your sound quickly on stage or in the studio.

The five-piece roasted Maple neck combines stability with a distinctive vintage-inspired appearance. Heat-treated at over 300°F, the roasted Maple is lighter and more stable, with a rich caramel colour that complements the Metallic Bordeaux finish. A Medium Oval profile, 12" radius Rosewood fingerboard and 21 frets provide a comfortable playing platform, while the 34" scale delivers the familiar feel and response of a full-scale bass.

A high-mass bridge uses heavy-duty saddles and a substantial base plate to enhance clarity, attack and sustain. It can be configured either string-through-body or top-loaded, giving you additional flexibility when restringing and setting up the bass. Hipshot Ultralight tuners help reduce weight at the headstock for improved balance and playing comfort, while the 42mm Boneite nut provides smooth string movement and reliable tuning stability.

The Thundergun Special is finished with a host of carefully considered details, including a headstock-access dual-action truss rod, Pure Tone jack, custom low-profile dome knobs and Reverend's upgraded control components. Every Reverend is hand-initialled and serial numbered on the back of the headstock after being set up, inspected and tested by a Reverend technician.
