Kikuchi Guitars is a guitar brand founded by Yoshiyuki Kikuchi in 2023. Kikuchi began his career in 1993 when he moved to the United States and studied guitar building at Sadowsky Guitars NYC. After returning to Japan, he established Sadowsky Tokyo and, while maintaining a close relationship with Roger Sadowsky, was involved in producing instruments including the JT Series, Metroline Series, and Sadowsky TYO.

In 2023, Kikuchi established his own brand, Kikuchi Guitars, as the culmination of his experience and expertise. The brand initially focused on solid-body basses, and has now introduced archtop guitars inspired by the archtop designs associated with Sadowsky.

This is the MF15L 2HB (Trans Black), a 15-inch thin-body full hollow electric guitar featuring a more aggressive 16th-fret neck joint and two-humbucker configuration.

The top, sides, and back are constructed from 5-ply Flamed Maple, giving the instrument a distinctive appearance while contributing to its warm and articulate acoustic character. The Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard complete a classic combination of materials.

The instrument has been carefully designed and constructed to maximize its natural acoustic resonance. The result is remarkably clear articulation and a warm, organic tone that allows the characteristics of the selected tonewoods to come through naturally.

Two custom humbuckers, developed through repeated prototyping specifically for Kikuchi Guitars, are installed to capture and reproduce the natural character of the instrument. They provide a warm and punchy amplified tone while maintaining excellent note separation.

Unlike the other models in the series, which feature a 14th-fret neck joint, the MF15L uses a 16th-fret joint. Combined with the two-humbucker configuration, this gives the guitar a more modern and aggressive character while retaining the essential acoustic response of a full hollow instrument.

The compact 15-inch body is exceptionally lightweight and thin, making it comfortable to handle even for players accustomed to solid-body guitars. The thin-body construction also contributes to a focused and controlled tonal response with excellent attack and quick response.

The guitar has been carefully set up by Kikuchi Guitars with an emphasis on playability. It is designed as a highly practical archtop that can serve as a reliable everyday instrument for a wide range of playing styles.

At approximately 2.46kg, the MF15L 2HB is remarkably lightweight for a full hollow guitar of this size.

This is a brand-new instrument in Trans Black finish and comes with an original hard case.
