The Meinl 22" Byzance Vintage Equilibrium Ride is Matt Garstka’s signature ride, designed to balance powerful stick definition and bell projection with unusually good crashability for a large ride.

Its medium-heavy construction provides a defined ride voice and strong, cutting bell, while the thinner outer edge allows it to open into a broad, musical crash. This is an amazing and unusually versatile ride.

The bell is powerful and articulate, and the bow gives you plenty of clear stick definition. What really separates the Equilibrium from many large rides, though, is how well it crashes. The outer edge opens easily into a broad, complex wash without giving up the definition you want from a primary ride.

It is a true ride/crash combination rather than simply a ride that can tolerate being crashed. For players who want one large cymbal capable of covering a lot of musical territory, this is an especially interesting option.
