1978 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Wine Red w/OSHC

Up for sale, here is a beautiful 1978 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe finished in Wine Red, a classic example from the Norlin era and one of the most characterful Les Paul variants Gibson ever produced. Solid mahogany body paired with a maple neck, typical of the period, this guitar delivers the iconic sound that late '70s Les Pauls are known for.

The guitar is in Very Good+ condition for its age and remains all original, with the sole exception of a set of recessed strap pins installed by a previous owner, and a nice leather strap fitted with the matching pins is included with the sale. All hardware is original, including the tuners and bridge. There are minor scuffs on the back and minor edge wear, although no big blemishes. The binding is in great shape, the frets have plenty of life left in them, the neck is straight and the truss rod works flawlessly, making this a guitar that is as ready for the stage or studio as it is for a collection.

Original Gibson mini-humbuckers, somewhere between a P-90 and a full size humbucker, clear and articulate with plenty of growl when pushed. Both pickups are original, and all electronics remain completely unmolested, including pots, switch and wiring, exactly as they left the factory.

At 10.4 lbs, it carries the substantial heft that is typical of Les Pauls from this era, and that weight is a big part of the thick, sustaining tone these instruments are prized for.
