1983 Dean Baby Z – Made in USA – Black – USA Kahler – Flight Case

Killer original-era USA-made Dean Baby Z from 1983. Serial number 8306083. These early Baby Z models have the unmistakable compact Z-style body, large V headstock, set neck construction, and classic early-'80s Dean look.

This one has definitely lived a life and has been modified over the years, but it's a great playing vintage Dean with tons of character.

The guitar shows honest player wear throughout, including scratches, scuffs, finish checking, dings, edge wear and other cosmetic marks consistent with a 40+ year-old instrument that has actually been played. There is visible wear around the body and headstock, along with some finish wear around the Kahler installation.

At some point in its life the original bridge/tremolo setup was replaced with the currently installed USA Kahler system. The body was routed to accommodate the Kahler. Someone also added the small geometric painted design on the lower wing. Please see all photos for the condition and modifications.

A very cool player's example of an increasingly hard-to-find early USA Dean. The Baby Z gives you the classic Dean Z look in a smaller, extremely comfortable body, and the Kahler makes this one particularly well suited for actually playing rather than keeping it tucked away as a collector piece.

Ships safely in an older heavy-duty travel/flight case.
