Inspired by Original Drawings From 1957

Developed from original drawings discovered in the Gibson Archives, the Gibson Theodore Standard is based on a design from 1957 that was only previously available as a limited edition 2022 Gibson Custom model. This model features include a mahogany body, scimitar headstock with Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners, and double Florentine cutaways that provide unimpeded access to all 22 frets on the rosewood-capped, SlimTaper™ mahogany neck. This Gibson Theodore, however is packed with the extra power of EMG 57/66 active pickups.

The original ’57 Classic™ and ’57 Classic Plus humbucker™ pickups are included.

The EMG 57/66 Set combines an active bridge and neck humbucker to deliver a dynamic, passive-like feel with the clarity and power of active electronics.

• EMG 57 (Bridge): Features Alnico V magnets and steel pole pieces for a punchy, PAF-style (Patent Applied For) vintage tone with modern headroom and tight palm mutes. 
• EMG 66 (Neck): Uses ceramic pole pieces for upper-register clarity, expansive low end, and a warm, smooth mid-range. 
• Dynamics: Unlike traditional compressed active pickups (like the EMG 81), the 57/66 set is highly touch-sensitive and cleans up exceptionally well. These pickups provide excellent detail, clarity, and diversity with a focused response when using overdrive.

The overall condition is very good, not pristine. It still shines like a mirror (see pics), although there are some light scratches and worming on the back. There's a single divot, albeit very small. See the last photo for a picture.
