1983 Greco Mint Collection EGC57-60 Super Real Custom - Ebony - Les Paul Custom – Scream'in 1982 PAFs, MIJ FujiGen, Super Real

Offered here is an exceptionally well-built, rare, and completely original 1983 Greco Mint Collection EGC57-60 Super Real Custom. Faithfully modelled after the 1957 Les Paul Custom, this example is finished in ebony and features an exceptionally dark rosewood fretboard, giving it the unmistakable appearance of an ebony-board. It is further equipped with hand-scraped fret-edge binding and a matched set of three hand-wound Maxon “Scream'in 1982” PAF-style humbuckers, delivering outstanding vintage character, clarity, and depth.

The guitar is sold with an aftermarket gig bag. 

Highly sought after by both collectors and players, these early Greco Mint Collection guitars represent the pinnacle of Greco’s early production. Built at the legendary FujiGen factory, this example is a superb testament to Greco’s obsessive attention to detail and their remarkable ability to capture the look, feel, and construction of a late-1950s Gibson Les Paul Custom.

The body carve is particularly impressive. The belly/top carve is executed with exceptional accuracy and arguably rivals — and in some respects surpasses — that found on many modern Gibson vintage reissues. It is an excellent illustration of just how convincingly Greco recreated the original design.

Condition-wise, this LP is in fine form; free from any breaks or repairs and is 100% functional.

As would be expected from a 40-plus-year-old guitar with a black finish, there are various play-related marks and areas of surface wear throughout. The most notable area is around the lower bout, where there is some chipping and loss to the finish around and beside the strap button, as shown in the photographs. Aside from this, there is the usual assortment of minor surface marks consistent with its age and use.

The neck is also in very good shape, with only minor cosmetic imperfections that have no effect whatsoever on playability. All 22 frets remain healthy and show plenty of life. There is some scraping to the finish on the treble side at the very top of the headstock, but otherwise the neck and headstock present extremely well.

The now well-tarnished gold hardware adds a well-earned vintage appeal to the guitar, perfectly in keeping with its overall aesthetic. The stop tailpiece appears to have been “top-wrapped” at some point in its life, leaving a few indents behind, but aside from these cosmetic marks, everything functions as intended.

All original pots and onboard electronics remain present and operate correctly. Sonically, the matched set of “Scream'in 1982 ” humbuckers delivers the open, woody, harmonically rich PAF-style tones for which these Maxon pickups are so highly regarded.

This guitar remains completely original and intact throughout.
