The holy grail of the Fender basses: 1961 Fender Stack Knob Jazz Bass in original Sunburst finish. The bass retains the classic concentric control layout, tortoise guard and original case. The electronics is untouched. There are three old repaired holes from "custom made" strap pins and the neck has received a partial clear overspray at some point. The bridge pickup had a high reading so we had it inspected by the amazing Andreas Kloppmann - he only needed to take off only 500 turns and fixed it using the original wire. This is not rewound - it's actually no issue at all. Other than that it's a clean and wonderful example of the first Jazz Bass - a extremely sought after model you don't find often on the market, even more rare in Europe. Slab board neck dating to June 1961, body dates to May 1961 and the pots to early 1961. Rare, desirable bass with original case, strap, cable and ashtray/pickup cover. Great package and great addition to any serious collection!
