The PRS Private Stock Hollowbody I Piezo in Walnut and Black Limba is an exceptional expression of refined craftsmanship, premium tonewoods, and remarkable tonal versatility. Its hollowbody construction pairs a walnut top with a black limba back, creating a compelling visual contrast between the walnut’s intricate grain and the warm, organic character of black limba. A high-gloss nitrocellulose finish enhances the natural beauty of both woods, adding depth and luminosity while preserving their distinctive character. Weighing 7 lbs 7 oz, this six-string instrument combines elegant proportions with a carefully considered design, embodying the artistry and attention to detail associated with the PRS Private Stock collection. Every element contributes to an instrument that feels sophisticated and distinctive, balancing timeless aesthetics with the capabilities of a modern professional guitar.
The one-piece Brazilian rosewood neck and matching Brazilian rosewood fretboard establish a beautifully unified foundation, distinguished by rich coloration and intricate natural grain. Carved to the PRS Pattern profile, the neck offers a balanced, substantial feel, while the 10-inch fretboard radius provides a familiar playing surface across its 22 frets. Original bird inlays without outlines preserve a clean, refined appearance, complemented by an Old School Eagle detail that celebrates the heritage of PRS design. The headstock features a white turquoise Private Stock Eagle logo, providing an elegant decorative accent that distinguishes this instrument’s presentation. A Brazilian rosewood truss rod cover continues the cohesive aesthetic, while the bone nut and rosewood-tweaked Phase III locking tuners combine traditional materials with precise tuning functionality. With its 25-inch scale length, the Hollowbody I Piezo offers a distinctive playing feel that complements its carefully crafted construction.
At the heart of the guitar’s electric voice are PRS 58/15 LT pickups in both treble and bass positions, designed to deliver warmth, clarity, and expressive dynamics. The integrated LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system expands the instrument’s tonal range with acoustic-inspired articulation, creating additional possibilities for performance and recording. Its comprehensive control layout includes volume and tone controls, a three-way magnetic pickup selector, a separate three-way piezo pickup switch, and a blend knob for combining the different tonal sources. This versatile arrangement allows the player to move between magnetic pickup tones, piezo-driven textures, and blended sounds with intuitive control. The PRS adjustable piezo stoptail bridge integrates the piezo functionality into the instrument’s streamlined design, while clear lampshade knobs and smoked black and gold hybrid hardware add understated visual sophistication.
The PRS Private Stock Hollowbody I Piezo in Walnut and Black Limba brings together exceptional materials, meticulous detailing, and a broad expressive palette in a distinctly luxurious instrument. Its contrasting walnut and black limba body, one-piece Brazilian rosewood neck, intricate bird inlays, and white turquoise Private Stock Eagle headstock logo create a cohesive design that rewards attention from every angle. Beneath its polished exterior, the combination of 58/15 LT pickups and the LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system offers the flexibility to explore rich electric tones, articulate acoustic-inspired sounds, and nuanced blends of both. Finished with smoked black and gold hybrid hardware and fitted with PRS Signature 10–46 strings in standard E tuning, the guitar is supplied with a PRS molded paisley hardshell case. At 7 lbs 7 oz, it stands as a sophisticated fusion of traditional craftsmanship, contemporary versatility, and the distinctive artistry of the PRS Private Stock series.
