Up for sale, a 1981 Ibanez Destroyer II model DT400 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Produced only between 1981-82, this iteration of the Destroyer II platform was produced at the Fujigen Gakki factory. Weighing 8lbs 6oz, tonewoods include a mahogany body with a bookmatched flame maple top, a three-piece set maple neck, and a bound rosewood fretboard.

The DT400 offers both the envelope-pushing aesthetics and sonics of the 1980s, pairing an Ibanez Super 58 humbucker at the neck with a high-output Ibanez V2 humbucker at the bridge. The Super 58 at the neck offers a pristine, warm clean tone with additional bass register roundness, while the V2 is big and bold with tons of midrange punch, retaining terrific articulation with any amount of distortion. The flame maple top is framed by cream binding, with a couple lines of vertical finish checking, buckle rash on the back and various dings and scuffs from use. The gloss finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with a couple small finish chips on the headstock edges.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included. The case features functional latches and a replacement leather handle.
