The pedal was opened and tested while putting together my pedalboard. It is fully functional and remains in immaculate condition. I’m simplifying my setup and keeping the pedals that best fit my particular rig.

About the TubeDreamer Mk.2

The TubeDreamer Mk.2 builds on JAM’s 808-style overdrive design, combining familiar mid-focused drive with additional control over clipping, dynamics and gain.

It can cover subtle breakup, pushed rhythm sounds and more saturated lead tones. The updated gain control provides finer adjustment at lower settings, making it easier to dial in a restrained overdrive rather than immediately jumping into heavier saturation.

Two Selectable Clipping Modes

Asymmetrical clipping

A three-diode clipping arrangement provides the pedal’s classic overdrive character, with a responsive feel and musical saturation.

No-Diode mode — N

Removes diode clipping for a more open response, greater headroom and a different amp-like feel. This gives the pedal a useful alternative voice alongside its traditional 808-inspired sound.

Dedicated High-Gain Footswitch

The second footswitch engages the additional high-gain stage without requiring you to change the main Gain setting.

This allows you to move between your normal overdrive sound and a more saturated lead sound during a performance.

Two internal trimmers independently adjust the high-gain output level for the two clipping modes, allowing you to tailor the volume relationship to your setup.
