Early San Dimas Jackson Randy Rhoads Neck-Through (Serial #RR 0057) – Player / Project Special

Up for sale is a piece of metal history with an incredible foundation: a 100% authentic early San Dimas Jackson Randy Rhoads neck-through, bearing two-digit serial number RR 0057—one of the earliest off the San Dimas factory line.

The Good:

• Body and headstock were stripped and stained cherry (Jackson logo is no longer on the headstock).
• Back body routed for a rear battery compartment to house active electronics.
• Control plate was drilled for the mini-switches.

I'm the 2nd owner. I bought it from a jazz guitarist after he owned it for 1 year. I've had since 1984. There's push pull pot that does some kind of magic. The electronics (battery compartment / pickup swap / push pull pot / overdrive booster / etc.) were installed by Ken Bright in Chicago around 1987. I included a picture of me in the 80's playing it in my hair metal band before I went rogue with the guitar . Wish I left it alone but who knew. I had Neely guitars in LA try to figure out the wiring but he ended up just cleaning it.

I think because of the rarity of the serial number this would be ideal for a collector / luthier. It would be great to see this piece of history restored back to what it originally was. If not it still is a ripping guitar as is.
