1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom Cherry Sunburst – Signed by Dream Theater & Joe Bonamassa – Previously Owned by Jerzy Styczyński

For sale is a truly unique 1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Cherry Sunburst, serial number 73407609.

I acquired this guitar directly from Jerzy Styczyński, the long-time guitarist of the legendary Polish blues-rock band Dżem.

The guitar has a very distinctive artist-related history. The front of the body bears signatures from the complete Dream Theater lineup present at the signing, while the rear of the headstock is signed by Joe Bonamassa.

This is not a case-queen that has spent its entire life untouched inside its case. It is a genuine, almost fifty-year-old vintage instrument that has been played and used as intended. I have personally played it quite regularly at home, in the studio and during live performances.

The guitar is fully functional and plays beautifully. The electronics operate correctly, and I have experienced no performance-related issues with the instrument.

Originality and history

I have personally not replaced, modified or altered any parts of the guitar.

Jerzy Styczyński informed me that practically everything in the guitar remained as it had been from the beginning. However, because of the age and long history of the instrument, I am not personally able to verify the origin of every individual component. For that reason, I do not want to provide an unconditional guarantee that every single part is 100% factory-original.

I am describing this openly and accurately, based on the information provided to me when I acquired the guitar.

Cosmetic condition

The guitar is listed in Good condition according to the Reverb condition guidelines.

It shows extensive signs of genuine long-term use, consistent with its age and history, including:

• extensive finish wear and finish loss across the back of the body;
• substantial wear to the finish along the rear of the neck;
• scratches, small dings and general handling marks;
• natural ageing and discoloration of the finish and plastic components;
• significant patina, tarnishing and plating wear on the gold bridge, tailpiece, pickup covers, tuners and other hardware.

The front of the guitar remains visually striking. The Cherry Sunburst finish has retained a beautiful vintage character, and the Dream Theater signatures remain clearly visible. Joe Bonamassa’s signature on the rear of the headstock is also clearly visible.
