Hermann Todt 4/4 Violin 1920s
I bought this violin along with a fantastic H. R. Pfretzschner bow from a local estate. I am selling just the violin and case to recoup some of my investment. It has two repaired cracks in the lower bouts and a chipped edge. The previous owner had small hands, so the string spacing is narrower than usual. I played this violin in chamber groups, and my colleagues really liked the warm tone it produces. The varnish is very soft like the old Italians. I am offering it at $4500, which is below what I find elsewhere. I prefer local pickup but can ship as well. The case is in good shape except that the pocket lids is tea off.
