This is a brand new, unopened M-Audio CX5 powered monitor. New, these sold for almost $300 and, though I've had it a few years, it's unused and offered at a great price. It has a 5" low-frequency driver and 1 1/4 " silk-domed tweeter. It is and feels weighty with a solid, high quality finish.
The unit is rated at 90 Watts continuous (RMS) and is a bi-amped design with 50 Watts dedicated to the low-frequency driver + 40 Watts dedicated to the high-frequency driver. Frequency Response is 50 Hz to 30 kHz with Crossover Frequency @ 2.8 kHz.
- Connectors: 1 x Balanced XLR, 1 x Balanced/Unbalanced 1/4" TRS, and 1 x Unbalanced RCA.
- Input Impedance: 20 kΩ balanced, 10 kΩ unbalanced.
- Input Sensitivity: 85 mV pink noise input produces 90 dBA output SPL at 1 meter (with volume control at maximum).
Rear Acoustic Tuning Controls
- Acoustic Space Switch: 0 dB (flat), -2 dB, or -4 dB to compensate for wall proximity.
- High-Frequency (HF) Trim: +2 dB, 0 dB, or -2 dB adjustments.
- Mid-Boost Switch: Engages a peak boost centered at 2 kHz to simulate consumer stereo systems.
- Low-Frequency (LF) Cutoff: Flat, 80 Hz, or 100 Hz high-pass filter configurations (useful when integrating a subwoofer).
