I have a 2021 Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s here with its original hard shell case. There is no paperwork with this one, but I assure you it is unequivocally genuine. This is a lightweight specimen, weighing in at 8 lb 14.5 oz.
The body top is on the better side of excellent, showing no dings, bumps, or chips. Nor did I find any buildup of light surface swirling or guitar pick strumming. Any faint traces of superficial swirling will be absolutely minimal here.
This is an interesting and unusual looking top, too. It has a 2 inch stinger of heavily flamed figuring running down the middle, wavy mineral streaks on the upper body side, and vertical curly maple figuring on the lower body side. It also has a really cool mineral streak pattern that looks like a little pond in the forearm area.
The body sides and edges look excellent as well. I did not find any chips, dings, bumps, or indentations, or any buildup of patterned playwear. Any faint, superficial traces of use will be absolutely minimal.
The body back looks just as clean. There is no buckle rash or worming, nor any concentration or buildup of low intensity, patterned playwear. There will be only the faintest traces of use, if any.
The neck shaft contour looks and feels excellent, with nothing to report there. The headstock is likewise nice and clean. I did not find any chips or bumps along the perimeter or on the face. The frets are tall and meaty, showing no pitting or divots.
The setup plays great. Note that it is currently equipped with a heavier gauge of strings, which feel like 11s. For that reason, I have it tuned all the way down to D standard and perfectly set up. So, if you want to switch to lighter gauge strings, it will be a simple change, with no adjustments necessary when tuning to standard E, as that will provide roughly the same string tension.
The original electronics are working perfectly as they should.
This one easily rates a 9.6/10 and grades as excellent. It's on the better side of excellent, and this is about as clean of a 5 year old guitar that has actually been played as I come across. It looks gorgeous from top to bottom, front and back. The pictures do it justice, and it sounds and plays as good as it looks.
Note that the original Gibson Demo Shop paperwork is included. They go on a five point scale rather than a 10 point scale, so take their ratings with a grain of salt. They are pretty conservative in how they list their guitars. My layman's grade that I've consistently used for years here makes a bit more sense. Think of it like a school grade report card.
So there is pretty much no bells and whistles here. Just a well built LP, that is comparable and not out of it's league next to a Historic reissue Les Paul. But at more reasonable price point.
So overall this is a familiar style Les Paul that will appeal to many players wanting that stripped down, return to form incarnation of the Les Paul. It's sounds impressive tonally but also has a familiar tone to it, a return more than a departure.
Note that this listing may come down at anytime as I am a multi-platform seller and do sell locally and on my own Site as well in an effort to keep sales fluid. State sales tax will be charged on Reverb sales when applicable, so factor that in to your purchase.
I will immaculately pack it as well. I use quality shipping boxes, ample tape on all sides. And sufficient bubble wrap filler and bracing inside the box. And always Marked/denoted as fragile. I generally detune guitars 1/2 half step prior to shipment as well if needed.
