Seymour Duncan Black Winter Neck 7-String Pickup

The Black Winter Neck delivers aggressive, articulate response with enough midrange presence to cut through dense 7-string tunings without sacrificing clarity. This high-output humbucker excels in modern metal and extended-range applications, offering the aggressive character players demand from a neck position on lower-tuned instruments. Hand-built construction and meticulous attention to coil design make this a professional-grade component for serious players.

Tone & Electronics

The custom overwound coil design produces high output suitable for aggressive playing and saturated gain structures. Ceramic magnets deliver a bright, defined response with strong harmonic content, while vacuum wax potting eliminates feedback and squeal for reliable operation at volume. Four-conductor shielding provides flexibility for coil-splitting and series/parallel wiring options.

Design & Build

Constructed with no less than three large ceramic magnets and naked coils in a passive mount configuration, this pickup represents meticulous craftsmanship. Every unit is hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA, ensuring consistent quality and attention to detail that separates professional components from mass-produced alternatives.
