This one is pretty special-- The Quilt Top is one of the absolute best Ive ever seen,,this is exactly why there was such a short run on these 1st year quilts-possible only 250 per color-Not many looked as good as this one so in Frustration EVH and Peavey decided to change to a Maple Flame top that was more consistent. The Quilt top here is outstanding with lots of character and the color is much darker than most--Really special. Rock and Weekend has documented this very well. If you have not visited the site, I highly recommend doing so, it's fantastic for any EVH Fan...The neck has great deal of Birdseye all throughout. Plays fantastic and sounds even better, these quilt tops in fact do have a better tone than the Flame Top that it was replaced with. Has all the Original Case items , Build inspection sheet, Tools, extra Trem tuning screw, Wolfgang booklet and the uber rare Peavey extra high-E .009 Strings still in the packet...Crazy... you never see those anymore...

Guitar has been played and it's in Excellent shape but not Mint--which is to be expected really, why would you not play one of the best guitars ever made--nothing crazy but a small amount of fret wear and light pick swirls/scuffs/dings--just some light honest play wear...Super-fast neck, very comfortable and the Tone is Epic. There's a real reason why EVH played his amber quilt top for many years, simple explanation -it rocked... Super Cool Piece and very Rare...
