HERE’S A FREAK!
This is a Made To Measure ‘61 SG Standard that was ordered to mimic the attributes of the original 2000s SG Supremes. Most strikingly, this SG has a flamed maple top with a unique Teal Fade finish, very reminiscent of the original SG Supremes. Additionally, the fretboard has the SG Supreme’s characteristic split diamond/Trini Lopez style cellulose nitrate inlays. The finish on the back isn’t black - it’s actually a dark brown/walnut color which allows the beautiful mahogany wood grain to show through. Other features that set it apart from an off-the-shelf CS ‘61 SG are the gold hardware and locking Grover tuners.
All the historic construction details are present with this SG - an ABR-1 bridge, hide glue, and CustomBucker AlNiCo III pickups are all built as they were back in the Golden Era. This M2M ‘61 SG provides all the desirable historic attributes of a Custom Shop SG Reissue but turns up the visual flair.
This one is certainly unique.
Condition is "Very Good". The most notable ding is on the top in the middle of the body. There are other nicks, dings, and scratches throughout. There are some dings on the top edge of the headstock. There is some finish checking around the strap button at the heel. There is some finish delamination around the bottom strap button. Includes case and pictured accessories.
