The Lovepedal Dover Drive OC42 is a custom, germanium-loaded variant of the popular Hermida Audio Dover Drive overdrive and distortion pedal.
- Inspiration: Designed to capture the signature violin-like, mid-heavy lead tones of players like Eric Johnson, David Gilmour, and Billy Gibbons, drawing loosely from the concept of a BK Butler Tube Driver.
- OC42 Germanium Component: This special-run version is built using rare OC42 germanium transistors, adding an organic, warmer, and slightly more compressed or fuzzy characteristic compared to standard silicon or stock builds.
- Controls: Features external knobs for Volume, Gain, and a single-band Tone control, complemented by an internal bias trim pot to fine-tune the clipping texture from smooth sustain to a gated, spitty attack.
