Up for sale is a Pre-Owned 2025 Gibson Murphy Lab 1942 J-45 Heavy Aged with LR Baggs Hifi Duet.  If you're looking at this, you probably know what it is, and it definitely has the mojo.  I'm not generally a fan of aging, but I do think this one looks good, and most importantly, something about the heavy aging does really make a difference in my ears.  It's just really a holy grail guitar if you're looking for this sound, and I have to say, J45's just record much better than many guitars.  It has that low end thump and growl that's one-of-one, and I love the woodiness that is warm, but with a crispness that you just don't get, balance-wise, from other guitars.  It sounds beautiful played intimately and really laying into it.  I also personally really love this neck - in fact it is my favorite acoustic guitar neck.  To each their own, and I found the rounder, chunkier neck more comfortable to play (I have medium-small hands) in combination with the shorter scale and 1.725 inch nut width.  The played in aging does really feel good in the hand as well.

While the guitar itself is in excellent shape, the case has a notable ding (please refer to the picture) and some minor marks.

This guitar is priced to sell - A new one of these with the cost and labor of installing an LR Baggs HiFi Duet would run you around $8000 new.  This is an opportunity to get an almost new one for a discount.  (Can a heavy aged murphy lab really be new?).

I'm only selling because I recently had a third child. Four acoustics need to be consolidated to one, and my D18 has more versatility for what I need.
