Joe Montineri – Mark Schulman Collection – 5x12" Custom Maple Snare Drum w/ Internal Trigger – White Marine Pearl
From the personal collection of Mark Schulman.
Mark used this Montineri snare as a side snare starting in the 1980 and into the 2000s, notably during his tenure as a member of Billy Idol's band from 1993-2001.
The drum has seen plenty of action during its years on the road. It remains 100% functional with nothing broken or damaged. There's some visible wear on the black powder coated hardware finish. The internal electronic trigger is mounted with cable routed through the vent hole.
In a Modern Drummer interview, Schulman discussed using a 12" Joe Montineri snare as his auxiliary snare while touring with Billy Idol.
Joe Montineri was an important figure in the emergence of American boutique drum building. DRUM! described him as essentially the father of the modern boutique drum-making movement.
