The Shop’s Take (quick read)
The Soundcraft GB4-32 is a proper analog console: 32 actual mono input channels, 100mm faders, eight aux sends, four groups, four mute groups, direct outs on every mono channel, and a 7x4 matrix. There’s enough routing here for a serious live setup, rehearsal room, recording space, or monitor rig, and almost everything you need is sitting directly in front of you rather than buried in menus. The GB30 mic preamps and EQ were designed by Soundcraft co-founder Graham Blyth for the company’s 30th-anniversary series. They’re clean, straightforward, and the four-band EQ gives you plenty of control without making the channel strip fussy. It’s also worth being realistic about what it is: this is a big, heavy analog desk. It’s roughly 51" wide and around 70 lb before packing. If you need something compact or want total recall and scenes, this probably isn’t the mixer you’re looking for. If you want a straightforward Soundcraft console with lots of real inputs, useful routing, and everything available at a glance, the GB4 still makes a lot of sense. This one is in Very Good condition, with normal cosmetic wear from use.

Full Description
The GB4 came from an era when a medium-format analog console was expected to handle a lot.
This is the 32-channel version, providing 32 mono mic/line input channels in addition to two full-feature stereo channels and two stereo returns.
Each mono channel is centered around Soundcraft's GB30 mic preamp and four-band EQ. The EQ provides fixed high and low shelving bands along with two sweepable mid bands, giving you considerably more control than the simpler EQ sections found on many compact analog mixers.
Each mono channel also provides individually switchable 48V phantom power, an 18 dB/octave high-pass filter, insert point, direct output, eight aux sends, routing to the four groups and L/R/C main buses, PFL, mute-group assignment, and a 100mm fader.

Where the GB4 becomes particularly useful is in its routing.
There are eight aux sends, four subgroups, four mute groups, and a 7x4 output matrix fed from the four groups plus the Left, Right, and Center buses. Soundcraft's dual-mode architecture also allows the first four aux masters and group faders to swap functions, making the console equally comfortable at front of house, on monitor duty, or doing a combination of both. For recording or capture duties, every mono input has a direct output, and Soundcraft also provided dedicated stereo record outputs with their own limiter.

This is a large, purpose-built analog console rather than a compact mixer with a high channel count. The 32-channel GB4 is approximately 51" wide and 70.5 lb, with a steel chassis and internally mounted power supply. Soundcraft used individually mounted channel PCBs and mechanically secured controls throughout the desk, reflecting its original live and installation-oriented design.

Condition - Very Good
The console shows cosmetic wear consistent with normal use, including the kinds of light marks and surface wear expected on a large-format working console. Please review all photographs carefully, as they show the actual console being offered and are an important part of the condition description.
