When Les wanted to chase a sound, Tom was the man executing it. The Time Machine series is the culmination of those decades of late-night research, experiments, and shared secrets. It bridges the gap between the mythical construction of the late '50s and the profound electronic refinements that Les Paul always wanted for the guitar that bears his name.

The Metamorphosis: From Custom Shop to Road Warrior
This Time Machine is built on an exceptionally rare Gibson Custom Shop True Historic. For this spare-no-expense limited run, Gibson threw out their standard playbook to achieve the absolute pinnacle of 1950s Burst accuracy. Featuring double-carved tops and necks, hand-sanded ultra-thin nitro, complete hot hide glue construction, and chemically reverse-engineered '50s plastics, a True Historic is a highly sought-after investment piece on its own, and the ultimate, uncompromised foundation for Tom’s proprietary aging and TRU-CLONES PAF Humbuckers. To become a Time Machine, the guitar must have an innate acoustic voice. Our Team selects only instruments that sit well under nine pounds and ring out with exceptional natural resonance when unplugged.

From there, the guitar undergoes a proprietary transformation. The thick factory finish is meticulously stripped back, and the wood is subjected to a delicate, specialized process of heat, cold, and physical vibration.
