You probably already know what a JUNO sounds like, even if you’ve never owned one. Cyndi Lauper used a JUNO on “Time After Time,” and that same family of synths helped create the playful steel-drum-like part in “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” a-ha used a JUNO on “Take On Me,” George Michael used one extensively on Wham!’s “Last Christmas” and “Everything She Wants,” and Enya used a JUNO to help create the sweeping atmosphere of “Caribbean Blue.”

Those warm pads, rounded basses, bright plucks, and especially those wide, swirling chorused textures became part of the musical vocabulary of the era, and they never really went away. That history is what makes the JUNO-X so appealing. It can get you into familiar JUNO territory quickly, then move well beyond it into modern synth-pop, ambient, house, and electronic production. With most of the important sound shaping right in front of you, it feels more like playing and experimenting than programming through menus. This one was used lightly in a home studio for a project that has now wrapped up and remains in Excellent condition.

The Roland JUNO-X takes the familiar layout and immediacy of the classic JUNO family and expands it considerably for modern production and performance.
At its core are three distinct JUNO voices: dedicated models of the vintage JUNO-60 and JUNO-106, along with Roland’s newer JUNO-X engine. That gives you access to the warm pads, chorused strings, basses, plucks, and straightforward subtractive-synthesis workflow associated with the original instruments, while the JUNO-X engine adds broader oscillator options, velocity response, and additional sound-shaping capability.
Behind those models sits Roland’s ZEN-Core synthesis system, opening the instrument to a much larger palette of sounds beyond traditional JUNO territory. The JUNO-X also includes sounds derived from the XV-5080, RD-series pianos, a vocoder, drum kits, and support for compatible Roland Model Expansions.
The front panel is one of the strongest parts of the instrument. Sliders and knobs provide immediate access to the parameters you are most likely to reach for while creating sounds, so the JUNO-X never feels dependent on menus for basic synthesis work.
The 61-note keyboard includes channel aftertouch, and the instrument can combine multiple parts within Scenes for more complex layered and split sounds.
It also works particularly well in a home studio. USB provides both audio and MIDI connectivity to a computer, while conventional MIDI I/O, balanced XLR outputs, 1/4" outputs, pedal connections, auxiliary input, and microphone input make it easy to integrate with a larger setup.
Built-in stereo speakers (SW switched) are surprisingly useful for programming, practicing, or simply turning the instrument on without setting up monitors. Bluetooth audio also allows music from a phone or tablet to be played through the JUNO-X for reference or practice.

This particular keyboard was used lightly for a home-studio project that has now concluded. It has not been used as a touring or gigging instrument and has been very well cared for.

Condition - Excellent used condition.
The JUNO-X has seen only light home-studio use and presents exceptionally well overall. The keys, sliders, knobs, buttons, display, connections, and onboard speakers are all functioning properly. There is barely any cosmetic evidence of use. Please review all photographs carefully, as they show the actual synthesizer being offered and are the best reference for overall cosmetic condition.
