1996 Guild JF-55 NT Jumbo Acoustic – Westerly, Rhode Island, USA

Serial: AJ550395

Beautiful USA-made Guild JF-55 NT from the Westerly, Rhode Island era. A high-end Guild jumbo with a solid spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, abalone rosette, ornate pearl/abalone fingerboard inlays, and gold Grover tuners.

This is a killer example with a huge, rich voice and the powerful projection these Westerly Guild jumbos are known for. Plays nicely and sounds excellent. The frets show very light wear with tons of life remaining.

Condition:

Very good overall vintage condition with normal signs of age and use.

There is some finish checking/separation visible in areas where the binding meets the wood.

At the center backstrip near the endpin, there is a visible crack/separation through the decorative backstrip. That area is also sitting slightly proud of the surrounding surface. Please see the detailed photos for the best representation of this area.

There is also some slight bridge lifting/separation from the top, which has been photographed and is being disclosed for complete transparency.

Otherwise, this is a remarkably attractive vintage JF-55. The finish presents very well overall, the rosewood back and sides are gorgeous, and there are no major dings or heavy cosmetic damage to note. Frets have very light wear with plenty of life remaining.

Plays nicely and sounds fantastic as it sits.

Includes its original Guild hardshell case.
