• One of the coolest guitars I’ve owned, and one I’d happily keep, but I’ve recently picked up a few other guitars and need to free up some funds.
  • This 1969 Gibson SG is exceptionally resonant and dynamic, with a lively acoustic response that really translates through the pickups. It reacts beautifully to changes in pick attack and playing dynamics.
  • The original pickups sound fantastic. The neck pickup is warm and full while still retaining plenty of articulation, and the bridge is bright, aggressive, and rocking, but can also get surprisingly twangy and clear.
  • The guitar has a pro refret and still has plenty of fret life remaining. The truss rod functions properly, and it plays cleanly up and down the neck with excellent sustain, especially for an SG.
  • The tremolo and nut have been properly adjusted and work very well. The trem can be used comfortably for vibrato while maintaining excellent tuning stability.
  • Cosmetically, it wears its age proudly with lacquer checking, buckle rash, finish wear, and various marks consistent with a guitar from 1969. Please refer to the photos for overall condition.
  • No headstock breaks. At some point before my ownership, there was a break/repair around the horns. The repair is completely solid with no movement or structural concerns in the two and a half years I’ve owned it.
  • A fantastic player-grade vintage SG with original pickups, tons of character, and the feel and response you’d hope to get from a nearly 60-year-old Gibson.
  • Comes with a 1970s-era Gibson SG case.
