Musical mad scientists Billy Gibbons and Bo Diddley put their heads together for this over-the-top bass, the ”Billy-Bo” Jupiter Thunderbird. Its look is out of this world, and its versatile sound ranges from down and dirty to mellow as Sunday morning. Special features include TV Jones Thunder’Tron pickups, Space Control bridge and Gotoh tuners.
This instrument emerged from a collaboration between Gretsch and the legendary ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons. The guitar was named after Billy Gibbons' nickname "Billy-Bo" and combines elements from various Gretsch models with unique modifications tailored specifically to Gibbons' preferences. This guitar is a must have for every ZZ Top fan. Science, or Science Fiction? For bassists who simply must have theirs too, the latest mutation of the ubiquitous Gretsch “Billy-Bo” has arrived. Long and lean, the G6199B features a futuristic semi-hollow mahogany body, dual TV Jones® Thunder’Tron™ pickups, newly designed bass “Space Control” bridge, and Sperzel® locking machine heads.
