A genuinely great old-school P Bass that has been loved, played, toured, and recorded for over two decades.

I’ve owned this bass since 2002, and I have been its only owner. This isn’t a bass that spent 20 years sitting in a case—it has been a working instrument. I’ve used it extensively for touring, live performance, and recording, and it’s a bass I’ve continually come back to over the years.

In 2007, I upgraded it with a set of Bartolini pickups and a Leo Quan Badass II bridge.

The Badass II is a substantial upgrade over the original Fender bridge, and it gives this bass an impressive amount of sustain, resonance, and note definition. The Bartolinis complement it extremely well. The result is a P Bass with a big, balanced sound that has plenty of low end, punch, and clarity without losing the top end.

It’s a remarkably versatile bass. I’ve used it for gospel, rock, indie, pop, and studio work, and it has never had trouble finding its place in a mix. It has that fundamental P Bass character, but the Bartolinis give it a little more depth and definition than a completely stock instrument.

Some dings and scratches are present (see photos) as well as some surface rust on the screws of the pick guard.

This has been my ride or die for over 20 years of professional bass playing & session work. I’m happy to see it go to another loving home.

After receiving, I strongly recommend having an experienced repair specialist give guitars a set up to adjust any issues with the neck due to shipping.

Original molded hard case included.
