Its AAA Sitka spruce top is paired with AAA Indian rosewood back and sides, with the three-piece back accented by elegant marquetry strips. A rich Tri-Burst gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish highlights the natural beauty of the wood, while multi-ply binding frames the body, back marquetry, and headstock. Traditional hand-scalloped X bracing provides the foundation for the instrument's powerful, resonant voice.

The rounded two-piece AAA maple neck features a stringer and a comfortable 25.5 inch, 647.7 mm scale length, with a 43.82 mm, 1.73 inch bone nut and an ebony fingerboard measuring 12 inches, or 304.8 mm, in radius. Twenty standard frets are adorned with hand-engraved mother of pearl and abalone Monarch Crown inlays, creating a remarkable visual centerpiece. The compound dovetail neck-to-body joint is secured with hot hide glue, reflecting the meticulous traditional construction of this Custom Shop instrument.
