Martin D-16M 1986 - 1990 - Natural
This is a Martin D-16 in mahogany that has one owner before me, from 1990. It is in excellent playable condition, with some typical scratches and knicks in the gloss finish.
Solid spruce top, solid mahogany sides and back, mahogany neck with Indian rosewood fingerboard and heel cap, and a Brazilian Rosewood bridge and headstock veneer. I replaced the original Chrome Grover tuners with Schaller open back tuners, but the Grovers will be included. Replacement, super beautiful handmade Tort pickguard. This guitar sports forward-shifted Scalloped braces and dovetail neck joint. Original Martin (blue 70's style) hard shell case included. jjb electronics piezo pickup is installed as well (essentially a boutique line similar to K&K). I'll also include a nice wide leather and braided cloth strap that is Martin branded.
These guitars are incredible sleepers. The 16 line, from the way I understand it, is Martin's experimental build/market test line. When these came out they were only sold to select dealers at NAMM, and are the slightly simpler appointed pre-curser to the D-18 V.
Guitar has plenty of saddle left and was recently inspected by a reputable luthier, it's set up and ready to play.
