Tokai LC-201S-CM with Bigsby B7G

Limited Custom-Order Model / Made in Japan

A High-Quality Japanese-Made Guitar from Tokai's "Inefficient Production" Philosophy

Handcrafted by experienced guitar makers in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan, Tokai guitars are built with a philosophy that stands apart from modern mass production.

While many major guitar manufacturers focus on maximizing production efficiency, Tokai Gakki Manufacturing continues to pursue the belief that "the hands are connected to the heart."

Many important stages of construction are performed by hand, including truss rod installation and detailed woodworking. Tokai also uses traditional hide glue for its set-neck construction, a material that requires considerable skill and experience to handle properly.

Each guitar is carefully inspected by the craftsmen throughout the manufacturing process. The result is an instrument that feels remarkably natural in the hands, with excellent resonance, response, and a distinctive sense of character.

A guitar is an instrument meant to be enjoyed for many years, and there is something particularly special about one that has been carefully handcrafted with that in mind.

We highly recommend experiencing the craftsmanship and feel of a Tokai in person.

LC-201S-CM with Bigsby B7G

Limited Custom-Order Specification

This LC-201S-CM with Bigsby B7G is a limited-production model built as a special custom order.

Based on Tokai's LC-201S Les Paul Custom-style platform, this guitar features a one-piece mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, two-piece maple top, and mahogany body, combined with the distinctive Bigsby B7G vibrato.

The addition of the Bigsby gives this model a different tonal character from a standard LC-201S.

Compared with the conventional fixed-tailpiece configuration, the Bigsby-equipped version produces a slightly more relaxed response with a fuller, more rounded low end.

The result is a particularly attractive combination of the powerful character associated with a Les Paul Custom-style guitar and the expressive feel of a Bigsby-equipped instrument.

PAF-Vintage MK2 Pickups

The guitar is equipped with two PAF-Vintage MK2 pickups.

These pickups are designed with the original vintage PAF pickups in mind, offering a relatively low-output, clear, and highly dynamic response.

Rather than overwhelming the natural acoustic character of the instrument with excessive output, the PAF-Vintage MK2 is designed to let the resonance and character of the guitar itself come through.

The result is a clear, articulate tone with excellent dynamics and definition.

They respond particularly well to changes in picking intensity and guitar volume, making them suitable for everything from clean and lightly driven tones to classic rock and higher-gain sounds.

Japanese-Made Craftsmanship

Japanese-made Tokai guitars are relatively uncommon in the world of Les Paul-style instruments, and this model represents the company's long-standing commitment to traditional craftsmanship.

The careful construction and precise neck joint provide excellent stability and a comfortable playing feel.

Tokai's Japanese-made instruments are also designed and built with consideration for the climate and conditions in Japan, making them well suited to long-term use.

Combined with Tokai's meticulous construction and careful setup, this guitar offers an excellent balance of reliability, playability, tone, and value.

For players who prioritize sound, craftsmanship, and long-term usability, a Japanese-made Tokai offers a compelling alternative to mass-produced instruments.

The combination of exceptional build quality and competitive pricing is one of the reasons Tokai has earned such a strong reputation among players in Japan and around the world.
