Vintage Racked Telefunken Preamplifier & EQ Bundle

This custom-racked Telefunken system combines six vintage German broadcast modules: two V672 universal amplifiers, two V676 microphone preamplifiers and two W395a three-band equalisers. Together they provide four channels of vintage Telefunken amplification alongside a pair of discrete inductor-based EQs, integrated into a practical rack-mounted system.

The two Telefunken V672 modules are discrete solid-state universal amplifiers developed for professional broadcast applications in the late 1960s. Designed as flexible building blocks for broadcast consoles and studio systems, V672 modules could be configured for microphone and line amplification, distribution, summing and other gain applications. Their discrete, transformer-balanced construction represents the generation of German broadcast technology that followed earlier valve modules such as the V72.

The two Telefunken V676 modules are dedicated discrete microphone preamplifier modules from the same German broadcast tradition. Designed for high-quality microphone amplification in professional studio and broadcast systems, the V676 provides transformer-balanced input and output stages with discrete transistor amplification. Compared with the more general-purpose V672, the V676 was specifically designed around microphone preamplification and provides substantial gain for low-level microphone signals.

Completing the system are two Telefunken W395a equaliser modules. Dating from the early 1970s, the W395a is a discrete Class-A, inductor-based three-band EQ designed for German broadcast consoles. Its stepped controls provide repeatable EQ settings, with low and high-frequency bands complemented by a selectable presence band covering key frequencies through the midrange.

The W395a low-frequency section is centred at 60Hz, while the presence section provides selectable frequencies at 700Hz, 1kHz, 1.4kHz, 2kHz and 3kHz. Together with the V672 and V676 modules, the pair provides vintage broadcast amplification and analogue equalisation within a single rack system.

All six modules have been custom racked for standalone studio use and operate from a shared power supply.
