History:

Purchased brand new by my grandfather and kept in the family ever since. The guitar sat stored safely in its original hardshell case in my closet for approximately 30 years and has only been taken out and played twice in that time. It represents a true "Closet Classic" vintage Gibson with exceptionally low playing wear and 100% original single-family provenance.

Guitar Highlights & Features:

• Body: 16" Florentine cutaway body with classic Sunburst laminate maple top and back.

• Fingerboard & Neck: 3-piece neck with rosewood fingerboard and classic split-parallelogram inlays.

• Hardware: Original black witch-hat Volume & Tone knobs with silver inserts, 5-ply pickguard with wide bevel, floating rosewood bridge with compensated saddle, Kluson Deluxe tuners, and original tailpiece.

• Serial Number: 559055 (stamped on the back of the headstock).

Provenance & Case Candy Included:

1. Original Master Charge sales slip dated 12/23/1972 providing exact purchase date provenance.

6. Spare original rosewood archtop bridge base.

Condition Report:

• Body & Finish: Excellent vintage condition. Rich sunburst lacquer with light, uniform checking consistent with a 50+ year old instrument. No cracks or structural damage to the body.

• Neck & Frets: The neck is straight and playability is superb across the fretboard. Frets show healthy remaining life.

• Neck Cosmetic Note: There is a finish chip/scrape on the back of the neck down to bare wood (clearly documented in the photos). It is purely cosmetic and does not affect playing stability. This is the only blemish on the guitar.

• Electronics: Both embossed humbuckers, volume/tone pots, and the 3-way toggle switch are 100% functional.
