Pair of 2011 CAPI VP28 Mic Preamps – Original Classic Audio Products of IL Faceplates – Upgraded DOAs

Pair of 2011 CAPI VP28 Mic Preamps – Original Classic Audio Products of IL Faceplates – Upgraded DOAs

Pair of early CAPI VP28 500-series microphone preamps built on 2011 circuit boards.

These are the original Classic Audio Products of IL faceplate versions rather than the later/current CAPI cosmetic design. A set of newer-style CAPI faceplates and knobs is also included if you prefer the updated look.

Each VP28 is fitted with:

• 1x Louder Than Liftoff Rogue Six discrete op amp
• 1x garAM10 V2 discrete op amp

One of the two units is configured with the full Litz transformer setup.

This is not a standard current-production VP28 pair. Between the early-production boards, original faceplates, upgraded discrete op amps, and the Litz-equipped unit, these are a particularly nice VP28 setup.

These have been some of my favorite vocal preamps and have worked especially well with a Manley Reference microphone. I’m only considering selling them as part of a broader gear purge for financial reasons. They have remained available for regular studio use and are not being sold because they were replaced or because I stopped liking them.

Both units are fully functional.

• Additional newer-style CAPI faceplates
• Additional CAPI knobs

• 2x garAM10 V2 DOAs
