I bought this beautiful R9 brand new myself in 2025 from an authorized dealer. It has stayed at my home, never gigged, non-smoking home. It plays fantastically, all original and in basically mint condition except for one small ding on the horn which I caused (see pics). Other than that, the guitar is flawless. Even has the red seepage into the neck binding that is common for nitro finishes on these guitars. I kind of like it.
I set it up myself for med-low action, straight neck, using new set of 10’s. And there is plenty of play in the truss rod to adjust for your tastes and string gauge.
I won’t list the specs, as you likely know them - same as every other R9 VOS. Honestly, the finish looks brand new and it’s only some of the metal parts that show some of the VOS slight aging. There is no checking or cracks in the finish. And the flame top with this Southern Fade is just beautiful, as you can see from the pictures. All parts are original, no modifications, case is in excellent shape as well. All case candy included. Pick guard is currently off of the guitar, but the screws are in the body and the guard in the case.

She weighs 8.5lbs. The ding on the horn came from when I was standing with the guitar on a strap and I leaned forward for a tuner on my desk. The horn bumped up against the desk causing the ding. Outside of that, the guitar is in mint shape. A good refinisher or artist might be able to spot-fix it up to blend better. But I understand that affects things a little bit, so hence the good price you’re seeing. I’m really only selling because I need to reduce my inventory.
I ship to the US only, well protected. Your guitar will arrive ready to play - after tuning, as I detune the strings for shipment.
Check my feedback, I’m just a guy who buys and tries gear, takes care of it, and occasionally needs to pass a good piece along to another good guitar guy. Ask questions if you like, and thanks for looking!
