Fender Rarities Quilt Maple Top Telecaster
Maple Neck / Blue Cloud
Released in 2019, Fender’s limited-edition Rarities Collection reimagines classic Fender models with uncommon tonewoods, finishes, and premium specifications.
This Telecaster features an Ash body topped with a highly figured Bound Quilt Maple Top, finished in Blue Cloud. The translucent gray-blue finish allows the depth of the quilted maple figuring to remain clearly visible, while the black pickguard, black binding, and chrome hardware give the guitar a distinctive look that stands apart from a traditional Telecaster.
The neck is made from Quarter-Sawn European Maple and paired with a Maple fingerboard, 9.5” radius, Vintage Tall frets, and a ’60s “C” neck shape. The quarter-sawn European maple neck is also one of the more distinctive material choices used on this Rarities model.
The pickups retain a traditional Telecaster SS configuration, but combine two different vintage-inspired voices. The neck position uses a Custom Shop ’51 Nocaster Single-Coil, while the bridge is equipped with a Pure Vintage ’64 Gray-Bottom Single-Coil Tele pickup, offering a blend of the direct character associated with early Telecasters and the more open response of a ’60s-style bridge pickup.
The bridge is a 3-Saddle Vintage-Style Strings-Through-Body Tele design with Compensated Brass Barrel Saddles, preserving the traditional three-saddle appearance while allowing for improved intonation adjustment.
With its Quilt Maple Top, Ash Body, Quarter-Sawn European Maple Neck, and Blue Cloud finish, this is one of the more visually distinctive Telecaster models from the Rarities Collection.
