Kingsley Constable - High Gain Version in excellent condition. Includes the power supply.

From Kingsley:

HG stands for High Gain. On the stock Constable, the left footswitch gives you a second volume option with no change in gain. On this HG version, it's a volume AND gain boost, with controls for each on the back. So you get the same Plexi tones as the stock Constable, and a more hot-rodded option.

Both channels sound great and the HG channel adds a lot of versatility and sound options.

The Constable sounds exactly like a 4 input non master volume Marshall 1987X or 1959.

It sounds like a 4 input Marshall all cranked up without the ear shattering volume of any use of an attenuator.

The Constable uses two 12AX7 tubes running at high voltage (around 270VDC) to get the most authentic valve tone out of its hand wired circuit.

Overview

Constable HG (high gain) – this one adds a high voltage JFET boost in front of the Constable circuit. You still get the full Constable single channel features and when you step on the left footswitch it adds the JFET boost in front. The JFET circuit has a Volume control, 3-way voicing switch and a 2nd Master is activated for the high gain mode.

The Constable HG has all the features of the regular Constable, except that the second Master is re-assigned to the high gain mode. Also you cannot set the bright switch setting to change with the Master selected (as it does on the regular Constable). You still get the Bright switch, but it's setting is not footswitchable.

When you step on the left footswitch the JFET boost is activated, giving you a higher gain sound, along with it's 3-way voicing switch and independent Master (Master B).

Features

"Volume 1" is the brighter of the two volumes and "Volume 2" is darker with a full bass response.

The 3 positions of the "Bright" switch can be set:

- position 3 gives the classic upper mid bite and aggression associated with plexi amps;

- position 2 on the "Bright" switch reduces the bright cap for a more moderate brightness response;

- position 1, it further reduces the bright for an even more moderate brightness response.
