Pickup Configuration: SSS (Three single-coils)
Pickups: 3x Ibanez Blazer SB close covered single-coils delivering superb, vintage Stratocaster tones (lease check videos available online)
Ibanez Blazer SB single-coils refer to the distinct vintage guitar pickups manufactured by Ibanez in the early 1980s. Most notably featured on early 1980–1982 models like the BL100 and BL300, these pickups are highly regarded for their unique design and high energy output.
Consistent String Balance: Because there are no individual poles, string bending does not cause volume drops or "fading" when the string moves between poles.
Tonal Profile: They are known for a punchy, clear, and snappy tone that retains classic single-coil bite while driving an amplifier slightly harder.
Phase Switching: On many Blazer models (such as the BL300), these pickups were wired to a 3-way toggle switch or a mini-phase switch. In certain wiring setups, the middle position delivers a distinct out-of-phase sound rather than a traditional coil.
· Controls: 1x Master Volume, 1x Master Tone, 5-way pickup selector switch
· Phase Switch: Early models include a mini-toggle phase switch for the middle pickup
· Bridge: Machined solid brass hardtail/fixed bridge (non-tremolo)
The Ibanez Accu-Cast bridge is cast from brass with chrome plating. It has a united sustain block and six individual offset saddles which can be adjusted separately both for height and intonation. Height is adjusted using a pair of grub screws in the leading edge of the saddle, while intonation is adjusted using individual screws running through the back of the tailpiece with tension provided with springs.
Hardware Finish: Solid brass knobs and switches
Tuners: Velve-Tune Mini II (1980) or Smooth Tuner II (1981–1982)
