Beautiful 2021 D’Angelico Excel EXL-1 Throwback in Vintage Natural, in excellent condition.
The Throwback version gives the EXL-1 a more traditional archtop character, with a 17” wide, 3” deep body, spruce top, ebony fingerboard, and a single floating Seymour Duncan Johnny Smith mini-humbucker. It has a warm, woody acoustic character with a smooth amplified jazz tone.
Vintage-inspired details include full-fret mother-of-pearl inlays, multi-bound Throwback f-holes, satin ebony pickguard, gold hardware, and D’Angelico’s classic scroll-style headstock.
A beautiful instrument that captures the look and feel of a traditional full-size jazz box while retaining the playability and build quality of D’Angelico’s Excel Series.
