Rivolta Guitars Combinata VII / No.1702101; [NFS/ Dennis Fano] 2017 / First Generation

First Generation 2017 Rivolta Combinata Burst / Autumn  Serial No.1702101; [NFS/ Dennis Fano]

2017 Rivolta Combinata — First Generation — Autunno (Autumn) Burst — Serial No. VA1702101 — Dennis Fano Design — Dual Novanta P-90 Pickups — Adjustable Bridge/Stop Tailpiece Configuration — Excellent Condition — [NFS / Dennis Fano provenance notation]

The COMBINATA VII is the evolution of a design with which followers of Dennis Fano should be very familiar. The larger and slightly offset body give the COMBINATA a shapely silhouette and more substantial feel. The chambered mahogany body features a German carve top ( mahogany on solid colors, maple on burst / natural ). The 25″ scale maple set-neck sports a comfortably chunky “Rivolta C+” profile, with 24 medium jumbo frets, bound / full width inlayed fingerboard.

Combinata was the first Rivolta design, introduced through Dennis Fano's collaboration with Mike Robinson/Eastwood. Fano described Rivolta as an opportunity to make fresh versions of his earlier designs; the Combinata is closely related to his earlier Fano RB6, itself influenced by the vintage Rickenbacker Combo 800.

Standard/non-tremolo Combinata VII:

• Chambered mahogany body, with a maple German-carved top specifically on the burst version
• Double-bound body
• Set maple neck, 25" scale
• Rivolta C+ neck profile
• Bound rosewood fingerboard, 12" radius
• 24 medium-jumbo frets
• Mother-of-pearl block inlays
• Two Fano-spec Novanta P-90s
• Master volume/master tone/3-way selector
• Compensated wraparound bridge
• Kluson-style/vintage-style tuners
• Gold plexi pickguard on the Autunno Burst version. Guitar.com

And these weren't generic P-90s with a Rivolta badge slapped on them. Fano specifically said he was able to specify the output and magnets to his preference. Contemporary testing described them as having more grind/output than the high-end Novo used for comparison, while retaining particularly good clean 1960s-type tones in the middle position.
