Gibson Les Paul Custom Plus Yamano 1996 Les Paul 3 Pickups

This is a 1996 examples specifically documented as Yamano-ordered/distributed Gibson USA guitars, with three DiMarzio DP100 Super Distortion pickups and Heritage Cherry Sunburst. 
A very special Yamano limited Gibson LPC in Ace Frehley style. (Yamano= the Gibson distributor in Japan at the time) Though the style is instantly recognizable, these specs of a flametop with 3 pickups and split diamond inlay was never officially released by Gibson. This was a special off-catalog dealer order to capitalise on the KISS reunion of 1997-98.

Ace's famous cherry LPC with split diamond was modified by himself in the 70s with an extra pickup and the 'milk bottle' Grover tuners. This was reproduced by Gibson Custom in 2012 as the Budokan Les Paul.

However those have a 3-piece top, not a flametop. (USA version incorrectly had a 2 piece plaintop, and synthetic fingerboard.

The 'official' Ace Frehley Les Paul launched in 1997, both Custom and USA versions indeed had a flametop but with lightning bolt inlays and his face on the headstock.

Not a split diamond.

You don't have to be a fan of Ace or KISS to appreciate this unique Custom. The Japanese dealers as usual, always try to make some thing special. It is a 'hybrid' Les Paul Custom that outside of this limited run, is pretty much non-existent.

Just in case you think I may have somehow found a 'regular' 1997 Les Paul Custom with flametop (good luck) and chiselled another pickup in myself... like many others who have tried to DIY modify Ace specs... i also have proof. The last pic shows the Japanese ad from 1997 promoting this one-off model (next to Paul Stanley's Iceman, no less)

This has 3 Dimarzio PAFs instead of Super Distortions as per the Ace signature model.

In 1997 when the Ace model was released, it was found that some shipped with a combination of SD/PAF and even all PAF.

How come? The answer i found out was simple, Gibson needed so many cream coloured SD pickups at once, Dimarzio was unable to meet the sudden demand. To complete production in time for the ensuing reunion hype they simply substituted cream coloured PAFs here and there.

In excellent collector's condition.

No paint ship issues,no large scratches, only light playing and polish swirls.

Includes original hardcase.
