Seymour Duncan 8-String Sentient Neck, Passive Mount, BlkMetal Pickup

The Seymour Duncan 8-String Sentient Neck is a focused, articulate humbucker engineered specifically for extended-range guitars demanding clarity across all eight strings. This pickup balances controlled aggression with note definition, making it equally at home in djent-oriented tunings and progressive metal contexts. Hand-built in Santa Barbara with meticulous attention to detail, the Sentient delivers the presence and separation modern 8-string players expect.

Tone & Output Characteristics

The Alnico 5 bar magnet paired with medium strength coils produces a moderate output level that remains articulate without sacrificing punch. This tuning prevents the muddy response common in high-output 8-string designs, preserving pick attack and individual string clarity across extended range voicings.

Construction & Technical Specifications

Built using vacuum wax potting to eliminate microphonic feedback and ensure long-term reliability, this neck pickup features a nickel silver bottom plate and ships ready to install with its black metal humbucker cover. The 4-conductor lead wire allows flexible wiring options for series, parallel, or split configurations.
