Super Duper Gear – Curating High-End, Vintage & Collectible Instruments
Offered here is a beautiful 1980s Ovation Custom Legend 1619 in Sunburst, made in the USA during the classic New Hartford era and featuring a signature from Grammy-nominated country artist David Frizzell.
David Frizzell earned a Grammy nomination with Shelly West for their hit “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma” and was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Grammy
The 1619 was Ovation's premium acoustic-electric version of the Custom Legend, featuring a hand-selected Sitka spruce top, Deep Bowl construction, ornate abalone appointments, ebony fingerboard and the period stereo FET electronics. These specifications are documented in Ovation's 1980 Custom Legend catalog. Ovation Tribute
This example is in Very Good Vintage Condition, with plenty of fret life remaining and only minimal lacquer checking consistent with the natural aging of a vintage instrument. It includes its Original Ovation Hardshell Case.
