PSP Ultimate Modular Collection 30 Modules for Voltage Modular (Card)

The PSP Ultimate Modular Collection is THIRTY MODULES built by PSP Audioware for Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular. PSP have spent decades building well regarded effects and processor plug-ins, and this is that work rebuilt for a modular rack.

PSP split the collection into two halves, and the split tells you what you are getting. The first is CLASSIC EFFECTS MODULES drawn from their experience making dependable, everyday processors. The second is CREATIVE MODULES built on algorithms from PSP N2O, their flagship multi effect, formerly called PSP Nitro.

THE IMPORTANT PART IS THAT THESE WERE NOT SIMPLY PORTED. PSP state that every algorithm was adapted, tailored and expanded to take advantage of what the modular format allows. In a rack, an effect's parameters can be driven by anything else in the system, so an algorithm written for a fixed plug-in interface has to be reworked to be worth having.

The Nitro derived modules cover the ground you would want to patch into: nitroFormant, a dual formant filter; nitroEnveloper, a dual envelope follower; nitroLFO with ten waveforms and derived shapes; nitroPhaser running up to 32 stages; nitroLoFi, a continuously variable bitcrusher; nitroBQF, two parallel filters; nitroComb, a two channel comb filter; nitroSVF state variable filters; nitroPitch, a pitch shifter; nitroNoise, a noise generator; and nitroADSR, an advanced envelope generator.

There is also PSP FreqShifter, an analogue style frequency shifter, which is the kind of module that justifies a modular rack on its own.

The reverb side brings three classic spring emulations in PSP Spring, three plate emulations in PSP Plate, and PSP Space.

A 32 stage phaser and a continuously variable bitcrusher are not things you find in a stock module set, which is the argument for buying this over what Voltage Modular already ships with.
