The World-Famous Workhorse

The J-45 is Gibson’s best-selling acoustic guitar of all time.  First introduced in 1942 and affectionately known as "The Workhorse", this iconic instrument has become the cornerstone of Gibson’s legendary round-shoulder dreadnought lineup.  Renowned worldwide for its full, balanced tone, warm bass, and impressive projection, the J-45 has been carefully refined while staying true to its celebrated heritage.  The Gibson J-45 Standard pairs a classic Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides, producing a rich, versatile voice with exceptional dynamic range, warm and articulate mids, and a tight, punchy bass response.
